First nationwide mental health survey gets underway

5 May 2026: The first ever National Mental Health Experience Survey is now open to people who have accessed care across 35 adult acute approved centres in Ireland. The survey is a joint initiative between the Department of Health, Mental Health Commission and the HSE, facilitated by the National Care Experience Programme (NCEP).
Integrating Health and Housing Responses to Roma Inequalities: The Tipperary Roma Health and Accommodation Pilot Project

This project emerged as a direct response to the pressing inequalities experienced by the Roma community in County Tipperary, identified through the Tipperary Roma Health Project managed by Youth Work Ireland Tipperary. A social determinants of health analysis revealed severe housing insecurity: by mid-2022, 75% of Roma families engaged with the project were homeless or at immediate risk of homelessness, with many living in overcrowded and substandard accommodation without tenancy documentation. Health outcomes were significantly affected.
