Hello my name is Michael Cronin and I am the Regional Patient and Service User Engagement Lead for HSE Mid West.
My role focuses on strengthening meaningful partnership between health services and the communities we serve across Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary. I work with patients, service users, families, carers, community organisations and staff to ensure that lived experience informs how services are designed, delivered and improved.
A key part of my work is supporting inclusive engagement with communities whose voices are not always heard, helping to ensure their perspectives shape regional and national developments in healthcare. I work closely with colleagues across the health service, community partners and national teams to develop engagement approaches that support participation, co-design and shared learning.
I am particularly interested in approaches that embed partnership into every day practice within health services, ensuring that engagement moves beyond consultation and becomes a meaningful part of decision-making and service improvement. The Partnership Hub provides an important space to share information, learning and opportunities for involvement, and I hope it will support stronger connections between communities and health services
