Hello ! My name is Fiona.
I am the Patient and Service User Engagement Lead for HSE Dublin and North East. HSE Dublin and North East is one of the new health regions. We provide hospital and community services to over one million people across North Dublin, Louth, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan.
I am passionate about putting people first. By working together with patients and service users, we can create services that better meet the needs of individuals and communities.
Our approach to partnership
Our region is committed to working partnership with patients, service users, and those who support them.
One example of this is our Patient and Service User Council for HSE Dublin and North East.
The Council's purpose is to make positive change in the health system. The Council does this by advising and making recommendations to regional leadership.
Who is on the Council?
Following an expression of interest process: 11 public partners were selected.
Members came from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
This helps represent different groups, especially those who may have poorer experiences and outcomes in our health service.
The Council also includes eight staff members from :
Social Inclusion.
Public Health.
Mental Health Engagement.
Regional Executive Management Team.
Our Goals for 2026
The council has worked together to design its aims and a plan to achieve them. These aims are to:
Drive positive and meaningful change.
Work in partnership with others.
Build a culture of partnership.
Work in an open and transparent way.
Empower every person.
