Hello, my name is Mairéad Holland and I am the Regional Patient and Service User Lead for the Dublin & Midlands Region. Across our region, staff are already partnering with patients, families, and communities. They are working together to improve their health and wellbeing.
My role is to support active participation of patients and service users in our health and social care services. This helps to build a culture of meaningful partnership across the region.
We know that people’s needs, preferences, and lived experiences are essential in shaping services that meet their needs. We want to support people to take an active role in their own care and how we design and improve services. By doing this, we can achieve more person-centred care and better outcomes for everyone.
Through the Regional Partnership Council, Partnership Panel, and wider network, we will create opportunities for patients and service users to be more involved throughout the region.
My goal is to work with the Regional Executive Officer and Regional Leadership Team to build on the strong foundation already in place. This will strengthen a shared culture where partnership, empowerment, and person-centred care are at the heart of everything we do.
I look forward to working with services and communities across the region to make sure we listen to every voice. This will help us to shape the future of our health services together.
I look forward to working with you.
