4th National Patient and Public Partnership Conference 2026

From Islands of Partnership to System-Wide Practice and Policy

Across health and social care, there are many strong examples of partnership working. Often, these happen in small pockets — a local project, a pilot, or a motivated team.

This conference is about how those ‘Islands’ of good partnership can spread across services and organisations, become part of everyday practice, and influence how decisions are made at system and policy level.

We are looking for real-world stories that show how partnerships start, how they grow and face challenges, and how they become built into structures, processes, and policy.

Partnership is a way of working where people are involved as equals — not token voices.

In health and social care, partnership means working with people, not doing things to or for them; using lived experience to shape services, sharing power and responsibility, and making decisions together in an open and inclusive way.
